About us
REACH Copper Consortium
The REACH Copper Consortium is managed by the ECI and assembles Lead Registrant companies, who maintain up-to-date and submit joint registration dossiers for copper, iron silicate, and twelve intermediates within its scope.
Following joint efforts by ECI and its Consortium member experts, all members receive access to joint (updated) registration dossiers, and step-by-step submission guidance. Each dossier includes a Chemical Safety Report, containing “identified uses” and “user descriptor codes”, recommendations for risk management actions and proposals for Classification and Labelling.
Since the initial registrations, ECI has supported the Lead Registrants on updating the dossiers of copper, iron silicate, and the intermediates. The most recent update was on January 2018. This continued effort shows the commitment of industry to meet its regulatory obligations and keep scientific information up to latest developments.
ECI will continue to use this public website to make all potential REACH registrants in Europe aware of the joint registration dossiers in scope of the REACH Copper Consortium and the related data access and sharing possibilities. Letters of Access agreements are available to support potential new registrant companies with their registration obligations.

While the provision of safety data sheets, down the value chain, is the responsibility of individual manufacturers, the Consortium provides important, generic guidance and exposure scenarios for the generation of SDS.
